Страница руководства для sshd_config говорит о том, какова возможность входа из sshd . А именно, параметры LogLevel и SyslogFacility - это те, которые вы ищете. Первый из них влияет на количество создаваемых сообщений, а второй - на то, как ваш системный журнал должен к ним относиться. syslog также заботится о том, куда действительно отправляются сообщения. OpenSSH не заботится об этом.
