Я обновил udev в моей системе (сервер ubuntu 14.04 на ВМ) до версии 204-5ubuntu20.18. После перезагрузки системы сетевые карты не переименовываются по предсказуемым именам. Имена эти *. В каталоге /lib/udev/rules.d/ отсутствует файл 80-net-name-slot.rules. Почему не работает новая политика? Что нужно сделать еще?

"Предсказуемое" наименование для устройств virtio было удалено в 2014 году, поскольку на самом деле оно не было предсказуемым (IIRC, сопровождающий virtio специально попросил удалить его).

Он был добавлен в конце 2015 года (с использованием более надежного метода), но я сомневаюсь, что Ubuntu отправит эту функцию в LTS.
